Pancuris-DSR Capsules by Biocuris is an advanced dual-action formulation containing Pantoprazole Gastro-Resistant (40mg) and Domperidone Prolonged Release (30mg). Unlike regular instant-release combinations, the DSR (Delayed + Sustained Release) technology ensures optimal therapeutic action throughout the day and night.
Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that blocks the final step of gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in the stomach lining. The gastro-resistant formulation protects the pantoprazole core from degradation by stomach acid, ensuring it reaches the small intestine intact for optimal absorption and maximum acid-suppressing effect for up to 24 hours. Domperidone is a prokinetic agent and antiemetic that works by blocking dopamine D2 receptors in the gut, increasing lower esophageal sphincter pressure, enhancing gastric emptying, and preventing nausea and vomiting. The prolonged release (SR) technology releases domperidone slowly over an extended period, providing consistent symptom control without repeated dosing.
This advanced combination is indicated for the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) with associated nausea, bloating, epigastric fullness, and delayed gastric emptying. It is also effective for non-ulcer dyspepsia, functional dyspepsia, and as adjunctive therapy in gastroparesis (diabetic or idiopathic). The DSR format significantly reduces the need for twice-daily dosing and improves patient compliance.
Manufactured under Biocuris’s “Quality with Integrity” standard, each capsule delivers consistent potency and purity. The recommended dosage is one capsule once daily, preferably before breakfast (30–60 minutes before a meal). Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not crush, chew, or open it, as this will disrupt the gastro-resistant and prolonged release mechanisms. The effect lasts for 24 hours, so once-daily dosing is sufficient for most patients.
24-hour relief from acid reflux & heartburn
Reduces nausea, vomiting & bloating
Prolonged release domperidone for sustained action
Gastro-resistant pantoprazole for targeted delivery
Improves gastric emptying & digestion
1. What does DSR stand for in Pancuris-DSR?
DSR stands for Delayed + Sustained Release – pantoprazole is delayed-release (gastro-resistant), and domperidone is sustained-release (prolonged action).
2. How is Pancuris DSR different from Pancuris-D?
Pancuris-D has instant-release domperidone (10mg) and requires twice-daily dosing, while DSR has prolonged-release domperidone (30mg) for once-daily convenience.
3. Can I open the capsule and take the granules?
No, do not crush or open the capsule. Swallow it whole to preserve the gastro-resistant coating and sustained-release properties.
4. How long does it take to work?
Pantoprazole begins reducing acid within 2–3 hours, but full relief may take 2–4 days. Domperidone’s anti-nausea effect starts within 30–60 minutes.
5. Can I take antacids along with Pancuris-DSR?
Yes, but take antacids at least 2 hours before or after Pancuris DSR to avoid interference with the delayed-release mechanism.
