Montekis LC by Biocuris is a dual-action anti-allergy formulation containing Levocetirizine Dihydrochloride (5mg) and Montelukast Sodium (10mg). Levocetirizine is a third-generation antihistamine that blocks H1 receptors to relieve sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose with minimal sedation. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that reduces inflammation, bronchoconstriction, and mucus secretion in the airways.
Together, they provide comprehensive relief from seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis (hay fever), as well as chronic idiopathic urticaria (hives). Montekis LC is also indicated for the prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction and as add-on therapy for mild to moderate asthma when regular inhalers are insufficient.
Manufactured under Biocuris’s “Quality with Integrity” standard, Montekis-LC offers consistent potency and purity. The effervescent tablet form ensures faster dissolution and absorption, making it especially convenient for those who have difficulty swallowing solid tablets. Dissolve one tablet in a glass of water (room temperature) once daily, preferably in the evening, as allergy symptoms and asthma often worsen at night. Common side effects may include mild drowsiness, dry mouth, sore throat, or fatigue.
Relieves sneezing & runny nose
Reduces nasal congestion & itching
Controls allergic asthma symptoms
Works day & night with less drowsiness
Blocks both histamine & leukotrienes
1. Does Montekis LC cause drowsiness?
Levocetirizine is less sedating than older antihistamines, but some people may still experience mild drowsiness, especially when starting.
2. Can I take it only when I have symptoms?
For best results, take it daily during allergy season or as prescribed; montelukast works best with continuous use, not on an “as-needed” basis.
3. How long does it take to work?
Levocetirizine starts working within 1 hour, while montelukast may take 2–3 days for full anti-inflammatory effect.
4. Can Montekis LC treat a sudden asthma attack?
No, it is not a rescue medication. Always use a fast-acting inhaler (like salbutamol) for sudden asthma symptoms.
5. Is the effervescent tablet safe for children?
This strength (5mg/10mg) is for adults and children above 15 years. Consult a doctor for younger children or lower doses.
