Nuracuris-P75 Tablets (Capsules IP 75mg) by Biocuris contains Pregabalin IP 75mg, a potent anticonvulsant and neuropathic pain agent. Pregabalin is structurally similar to the neurotransmitter GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) but does not directly act on GABA receptors. Instead, it binds with high affinity to the alpha2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system. This binding reduces the influx of calcium into nerve terminals, leading to decreased release of several excitatory neurotransmitters including glutamate, norepinephrine, and substance P. The result is a reduction in neuronal hyperexcitability and a calming effect on damaged or overactive nerves.
Pregabalin is indicated for the management of various neuropathic pain conditions including diabetic peripheral neuropathy (nerve pain in diabetes), postherpetic neuralgia (persistent pain following shingles), and spinal cord injury-related neuropathic pain. It is also approved for the treatment of fibromyalgia, a condition characterized by widespread musculoskeletal pain, fatigue, and sleep disturbances. Additionally, Nuracuris-P 75 is used as adjunctive therapy for partial onset seizures in adults with epilepsy when other medications provide inadequate control.
The 75mg strength is typically a starting or mid-range dose. Physicians often initiate therapy at 75mg once or twice daily and gradually titrate upward based on response and tolerability, up to a maximum of 300-600mg per day divided into two or three doses.
