Predoris-8 by Biocuris contains Methylprednisolone Tablets IP 8mg, a potent synthetic corticosteroid with strong anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant properties. It is indicated for a wide range of conditions including severe allergies, asthma exacerbations, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis flares, inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis & Crohn’s disease), skin disorders (severe eczema, psoriasis), and certain types of nephrotic syndrome.
Methylprednisolone works by suppressing the release of inflammatory substances in the body (such as prostaglandins and cytokines) and by stabilizing cell membranes. It is approximately 20% more potent than prednisone on a milligram basis, making Predoris-8 highly effective for acute flare-ups and short-term management of severe inflammation.
Manufactured under Biocuris’s “Quality with Integrity” standard, each tablet delivers consistent potency and purity. Important: This medication must be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop suddenly, especially after long-term use, as this can cause adrenal crisis (weakness, low blood pressure, shock). Dosage is typically tapered down gradually. Common side effects include increased appetite, weight gain, insomnia, mood changes, elevated blood sugar, and fluid retention. Long-term use requires monitoring for osteoporosis, cataracts, and hypertension.
Reduces severe inflammation rapidly
Suppresses overactive immune response
Relieves allergic & asthmatic conditions
Manages autoimmune disorders (e.g., lupus, rheumatoid arthritis)
Controls flare-ups in skin & bowel diseases
1. How is Predoris-8 different from regular prednisone?
Methylprednisolone is slightly more potent (8mg ≈ 10mg prednisone) and may cause less fluid retention in some patients.
2. Can I stop taking Predoris-8 once I feel better?
No, never stop suddenly. Always follow your doctor’s tapering schedule to avoid dangerous adrenal withdrawal symptoms.
3. What is the best time to take this tablet?
Take it with food or milk in the morning (to match your body’s natural cortisol cycle and reduce stomach upset).
4. Can I take it during an active infection?
Only under strict medical supervision, as corticosteroids suppress the immune system and can worsen infections.
5. Are there any foods or medicines to avoid?
Avoid grapefruit juice (increases side effects) and NSAIDs like ibuprofen (increases ulcer risk). Inform your doctor about all medications.
